Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer.

61 years old female patient with HCC and lung metastasis. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer. HCC usually occurs in patients with cirrhosis and is common in areas where infection with hepatitis B and C viruses is prevalent. About 35 % of patients with HCC experience pulmonary metastases, as HCCs most frequently metastasize to the lungs.
